I am now back to work, my studio being finally organized and our house in reasonable order. I am working on landscapes, cityscapes, interiors, religious works, and still life... trying to do one of each in a row to spread my work out a bit.

When one paints an entire series of something (e.g. cityscapes) and then takes a detour to paint something else (such as an icon) the visual continuity is not always evident to the viewer, and so it look as though there is not any thought behind the painting. So it is best, I think, to paint everything all at once rather than focus on doing various series. That way the various styles that each naturally subject lends itself to blends together, forming a unity.
